Building Bridges

Building Bridges supports the mental health needs of young people transitioning into adulthood.

Who is the service for?

If you are aged 18 to 24 and would like to join our Building Bridges group you can self-refer by calling or texting Laura Minney on: 07587 035 313.

Referrals can also be made directly to our Children and Young Person's team at Barca-Leeds, download a referral form and return it to: cypreferrals@barca-leeds.org

Building Bridges is in partnership with LS14 Trust and GIPSIL and supports the mental health needs of young people moving into adulthood through a programme weekly groups and one to one support.

The project provides:

  • a supportive community where young people can connect with peers facing similar challenges.
  • an approach that addresses mental health concerns and also fosters understanding and support for neurodivergent individuals.
  • opportunities for young people to build a social network within a safe and supportive environment.
  • peer support and a sense of community among participants.
  • opportunities to take part in creative activities such as art and music.

85% of young people taking part improved their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
