Alcohol and Drug Practitioners – Early Help Hub

Are you looking for a new role that allows you to be part of a multi-disciplinary team leading good practice and innovation? These are exciting new opportunities to support families with drug and alcohol problems as part of a multi- disciplinary team within the Early Help Hubs. The Hubs are part of Families First which is seen as an exemplar nationally. These posts will play a critical part in transforming early help and making a difference to children and families.  Candidates will have excellent knowledge of drugs and alcohol and have experience of delivering treatment to this client group. They will also have an excellent understanding of the impact of drugs and alcohol on families and be experienced in safeguarding matters and an advocate of Think Family Work Family approach.  

 

The successful candidates will be based in the Early Help Hubs, one in each area of the city, and be part of a multi-disciplinary team of workers. They will be expected to provide early advice and support, signposting and helping family’s access treatment when required. Successful candidates will be expected to work with and provide training and support for colleagues across the partnership.

Community Engagement Worker – Health & Wellbeing Team Job Ref – HW057

We are seeking a Community Engagement Worker to join the Health and Wellbeing team, working specifically on the Better Together project in West Leeds based at Northside Exchange in Kirkstall.  The Public Health funded project engages with individuals from the most disadvantaged communities in West Leeds through outreach activities, to bring people together and support them to develop community based activities e.g. arts and crafts groups, jobs clubs, volunteering courses.  We are looking for applicants who can engage with a range of stakeholders, with a knowledge of asset based community development, and enthusiasm and creativity to engage with individuals and communities who would like to improve their health and wellbeing.

Therapeutic Services Manager (Schools Clusters). Job Ref – HW058

Barca delivers highly successful services to schools clusters in Leeds and is seeking to appoint a Manager who has good knowledge of childhood development and therapeutic services to continue to develop our schools clusters service.

 

We provide counselling, family systemic psychotherapy and emotional wellbeing services across the Armley, BCM, Bramley, Headingley & Kirkstall, Inner East, JESS, Temple Newsam, Pudsey and Leeds SILCs schools clusters. School-based therapists provide targeted emotional health and wellbeing support, via a range of therapeutic interventions, for children and young people aged 5-18. The Schools Cluster Manager will provide line management support and clinical and operational guidance for a proportion of our schools clusters. This will lead on ethical practice and the best standards in case work and service delivery. Due to our high quality delivery Barca has expanded this provision significantly in the last year and we are keen to keep improving our offer and services for children and young people.

NEET Engagement Worker – Job Ref CYP049

The service is commissioned to work with young people aged 16–18 years who are at risk of becoming NEET or currently NEET, within West Leeds.  The service provides positive activities and group work and intensive 1:2:1 support around issues such as housing, debt, substance and alcohol misuse and benefits.

As part of the Children and Young People’s team this post involves working with young people in their community.  This is a targeted service focussing in areas of social deprivation with higher than average NEET young people, teenage pregnancies and low academic achievements.
