Current Job Opportunities
Communications Worker – Job Ref COR008
End Date: Wednesday 10th of July 2019 at 09.00 am
We have recently adopted a new communications strategy and need to revitalise our approach to this area of work. This is a brand new role at Barca-Leeds and will require a flexible approach to find the right fit within the organisation to establish this new function.
The appointed person will need to work closely with all the different teams across Barca-Leeds and build an understanding of their communication and marketing needs as well as the overall requirements for the whole organisation. We have previously commissioned two documents – a research report and a communications strategy which provide context and inform our action plans.
The post-holder will coordinate our social media accounts, review our website needs, support internal communications and develop new external facing communications including a newsletter for stakeholders. They will also be responsible for looking after our brand guidelines and supporting teams with using branded templates and forms.
Two PEP Link Workers – Job Ref HW052
End Date: Monday 15th of July 2019 at 08.00 am
Provide a better future for disadvantaged communities in West Leeds
“I think you do a brilliant job and it’s an excellent service. I’ve had many professionals involved with me but PEP was one of the best”
“What I liked best about the service was you (Link worker). I think you are one of the most encouraging people I’ve ever met.”
PEP (Patient Empowerment Project) is the West Leeds Social Prescribing Service, delivered by Barca, Leeds MIND and Better Leeds Communities. The partnership has been working together and delivering this genuinely ground-breaking, innovative service since 2014. PEP works with people whose mental and physical health is being affected by a variety of issues, including debt, housing or social isolation. We also work with people with long-term health conditions, supporting them to manage and take control of their own health and wellbeing. The service links people referred by their GP to community based, non-medical services.
We are looking for resilient and empathetic people to work directly with service users. You will need to be solution focussed in order to assess patients referred by their GP, support them to make a plan to change and link them with the most appropriate services to meet their need. Our feedback is fantastic – the service makes a real difference to people’s lives – come and join us.
We have volunteering opportunities for both diploma graduates and students. Students need to be in their second year of the diploma and have a minimum of 50 hours counselling client work under clinical supervision. Please contact us on the email or phone number below and we can send you the relevant forms.
